The Client
AARP Princess Anne Chapter #5119 is an active community chapter serving seniors in the Princess Anne area of Virginia Beach. The chapter organizes events, advocates for senior issues, and provides a social hub for its members.
The Challenge
The chapter had no online presence. All communication relied on phone trees and printed flyers. Members were missing events, new residents couldn’t find the chapter, and leadership struggled to share updates efficiently. They needed a modern website that was simple enough for their least tech-savvy members to navigate.
Our Solution
We built a clean, accessible community website designed with seniors as the primary audience:
- Large, readable typography with high-contrast colors for accessibility
- Event calendar with upcoming meetings, trips, and social gatherings
- About section introducing chapter leadership and mission
- Contact form for new members to reach out and join
- Mobile-responsive design so members can check updates from any device
- Photo gallery showcasing community events and member activities
The Results
The website transformed how the chapter communicates and grows:
- 40% increase in event attendance within the first quarter
- 25+ new member inquiries through the website contact form in the first two months
- Zero training needed: members navigate the site independently
- Chapter leadership now updates content without developer assistance
Technologies Used
